Avalanche Danger Today — Alps
No avalanche bulletin is in force for Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino today: the services publish daily in the winter season, usually from late November or December (the last bulletin we have ran to 3 May 2026). The Swiss SLF service did not answer just now — check it directly. Snow can fall at altitude any month, so check the local service before a high tour.
The European avalanche danger scale
| 1 | Low |
| 2 | Moderate |
| 3 | Considerable |
| 4 | High |
| 5 | Very high |
Before you go off-piste or on a tour
- Read the full bulletin for your region, not just the number: the problem type and the heights and slope aspects at risk matter most.
- Carry a transceiver, shovel and probe — and practise with them. Go with others and keep distances on steep slopes.
- Level 3 (considerable) is where most fatal accidents happen; avoid slopes steeper than 30° in the places the bulletin names.
- Emergency: 112 everywhere; in Switzerland Rega 1414.
What this page shows, and what it misses
The highest danger level in each warning region from the current bulletins of the Swiss SLF and the Euregio service for Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino, with the main avalanche problems. France, Austria outside Tyrol, Bavaria, Italy outside South Tyrol and Trentino, and the rest of the Alps are not covered here — use their own services. A danger level covers a whole region; local conditions vary slope by slope.
