QuestionsStrikes in France

Is there a strike in France today?
Yes. Today, Monday 2 November 2026, SNCF lists strike disruption in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (a local strike); a nationwide strike is set for Thursday 5 November 2026, with disruption notices from 4 SNCF regions or services so far.
Is there a strike in France on Thursday 5 November?
Yes. SNCF has posted disruption notices for Thursday 5 November 2026, a nationwide interprofessional strike ("mouvement social national interprofessionnel"), in Centre-Val de Loire, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Pays de la Loire. The adjusted train plan is normally published the evening before (several notices say from 17:00); check SNCF Connect or the TER site of your region.
When does SNCF publish the train plan for a strike day?
Under the 2007 law on continuity of public transport, staff must declare their intention to strike 48 hours ahead, so operators can publish an adjusted plan. SNCF regional notices usually give it the day before from 17:00, on SNCF Connect, the regional TER site and operator apps.
Does this page cover the Paris metro, flights and schools?
No. It reads SNCF's TGV INOUI, OUIGO, Intercités and TER notices only. RATP (Paris metro, RER, buses), Transilien, airlines and schools publish their own strike notices — links are below.

What this page shows, and what it misses

Strike notices ("mouvement social", "grève") in SNCF Voyageurs' real-time disruption feed for TGV INOUI, OUIGO, Intercités and TER, read every 12 minutes and grouped by region. The strike days come from the notice text; "Notice shown" is when SNCF displays the message, which can start days before the strike. "Trains listed" counts the trains SNCF attached to the notice, not the trains cancelled.

Not covered: RATP, Transilien, urban networks, flights, schools and other public services; strikes SNCF has not yet posted. Region names for a few SNCF codes are our reading of the notices.
