If you have a recalled product

  • Stop using it — or do not eat it — and check the notice for the exact batch, size or date code.
  • Follow the remedy in the notice: refund, repair or replacement. You usually do not need a receipt.
  • Allergy alerts matter only if someone in your home has that allergy; for everyone else the food is safe.
  • US FDA classes: Class I can cause serious harm or death, Class II temporary health problems, Class III unlikely to cause harm.

What this page shows, and what it misses

US: product recalls from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (announced daily) and food recalls from the FDA's weekly enforcement report via openFDA, which runs a week or more behind the FDA's press releases, and vehicle recalls from NHTSA (check your own vehicle by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls). Meat and poultry recalls (USDA FSIS) and medicines are not included. UK: allergy alerts, product recall notices and food alerts from the Food Standards Agency. Recalls are not incidents and do not enter our incident record. Credits: licences.
